POST 01.09

I was rereading that last post after I uploaded it. It's interesting the memories that pop into your head, and how they get there. From garage door openers to lawn mowing to compost piles to my old neighbor with his fresh corn and tomatoes. Strange how the mind works.

Anyway, after mowing the lawn, I went into the kitchen, washed up, and made up some cherry Kool-Aid with cold water and lots of ice. I poured it into a big glass, and went out to the front porch, sitting down in the chair, sipping on the cherry Kool-Aid. Very refreshing after mowing the lawn. It wasn't going to get too hot today, probably about 85. Nice day to sit outside and watch the world go by. I couldn't stay there all afternoon, but 10 minutes of cool-down time (with the cherry Kool-Aid) was good enough.

I finished off my drink, checked the sprinkler timer, and went back into the house. You know the routine by now: rinse off the glass, into the dishwasher it goes. Pitcher of Kool-Aid in the fridge. Clean up the counter a bit. Wash my hands. Keep things neat.

I was ready. The lawn was mowed, I was refreshed with a bit of cherry-flavored sugar. Time to check on the program.

I opened the door to the computer room, and saw the program merrily working. Well, not really 'merrily', since my router emulator program didn't have any music attached. But the computer was working on the task. Once you get a program running, it will run forever if you want it to. It had been running for about 2 hours, so had gathered some good packet transmission times.

I gathered the time transmission data and put it a copy of the spreadsheet that I had built for the 'normal' data. A few commands took care of graphing the data. The graph showed the high, low, and average data transmission times of the data packets. I did a printout of the graph, and compared it to the graph for the 'normal' data. I put the two graphs side by side, and took a look.

And I was surprised.
